This journey is strongly recommended to picture-hunting visitors and adventurers, who are interested in discovering Ha Giang- the Northernmost province of Vietnam. It is a great chance to explore remote isolated areas and the customs of hill tribal people. The tour is all about contemplating the most splendid part of Vietnam, where concentrates magnificent but dangerous limestone mountain ranges, incredible terraced paddy fields, and dozens of various ethnics including H’mong, Tay, Nung, Lo Lo, Dzao.
You will be met by our driver and tour guide at 7:30 a.m to start your 6-day off-the-beaten-track trip to Ha Giang. We begin our 8-hour drive following a route that you can recognize the change of scenery, from the endless rice fields of the Red River Delta to the green tea plantations under the foothills when entering the mountainous northern region. Arriving in the town of Tuyen Quang, we will stop for a short break and lunch in a local restaurant.
After that we continue to Hoang Su Phi, a remote and stunning area of Ha Giang. It is famous for its terraced rice fields and fascinating local culture, you may come across the Nung, Tay, Red Dzao and La Chi, just some of the many ethnic minority groups who have settled here. Late afternoon, we arrive at your accommodation in Thong Nguyen village, a wide valley populated by the Tay Ethnic group. You might relax and have a herbal bath when we stay overnight here.

On this day, we will pass the mountain roads from Pan Hou village to Quan Ba town. You can enjoy the incredible view along Happiness Road. Your first stop is Quan Ba Heaven Gate which is located about 50 km north of Ha Giang City. It is also the gateway to Dong Van geological park. The winding roads will wake your inside desire of conquering up. The Heaven Gate is located on the top of the Bac Sum pass, looking down Twin Mountains. After that we will go to Lung Khuy cave, which is considered as the most beautiful cave in Ha Giang then take a short trekking through villages. We will rest, have dinner and overnight in Nam Dam village.

After breakfast, we will continue our journey. From Nam Dam, we drive pass some villages of Yen Minh district and spectacular passes as Tham Ma Pass, Nine Circle Pass . Though they are quite challenging, you will be rewarded with the breathtaking views. You will also know how people live in remote parts of Vietnam when we drive through the villages of Pho Cao, Sung La and Lung Hoa. A stop will be made to visit the residence of the Vuong Family, still called “Hmong King’s Palace”. Then, we will trek through villages before head to our accommodation at a guest house in Lung Phin village.

In this morning, you can walk around the old town and local markets by yourselves. We will continue our drive towards Meo Vac Town. You will have chance to visit Ta Lung Commune and see local Lo Lo Hoa and Hmong women wearing colourful clothes. We will make few stops for admiring the scenery and taking some photos of Wind Pass and especially, Ma Pi Leng pass, for sure one of the most spectacular roads you will ever take. This is the pass connecting Dong Van and Meo Vac district. Some sections of Nho Que river run on the border line between Vietnam and China. You will be amazed at the view of Ma pi Leng gorge which is the deepest gorge in Vietnam. You will stay at hotel in Meo Vac.

We begin this morning with a visit to the fabulous Meo Vac Market, where vendors come from the surroundings. It’s a fantastic opportunity to see the people of ethnic minorities, who came here travelling many kilometers from their homes. They sell mainly fabrics, animals and food. You can taste some special local food, corn and rice wine. The road then follows the pretty and peaceful stream through the valley and further up and downhill through pine forests until Yen Minh town, which looks like a Dalat of the Northern Vietnam. We drive pass Tam Son Town in Quan Ba and then back to Ha Giang City. Dinner is served at a local restaurant and you will spend a night in Truong Xuan resort in Ha Giang.

You will have a day to relax and discover some attractions in Ha Giang city. We can enjoy the comfortable and cozy atmosphere at Truong Xuan Resort. Moreover, you will have chance to visit Thon Tha Village. This is the best place to go to if you love trekking and exploring places with beautiful sceneries but not far away from the city. The people in Thon Tha village are under the Tay ethnic group. It’s a terrific chance to enjoy fresh air, majestic scene of mountains, rice fields as well as to more about Tay ethnic group’s culture and history. After having lunch, you can have short walk to villages, you will be impressed by the picturesque views and he hospitality of people here. Your afternoon is free at leisure, you can rest at the hotel or wander around the city before we travel back to Ha Noi.
